Roles & Responsibilities

• Dispense and compound prescribed medications accurately and safely for patient care
• Review prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, and potential interactions
• Counsel patients about medication use, side effects, storage, and adherence
• Direct and mentor pharmacy technicians and interns while maintaining required pharmacist-to-staff ratios
• Manage inventory, track controlled substances, and maintain loss prevention controls
• Ensure regulatory compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and guidelines
• Maintain accurate pharmacy records, enter patient and prescription data, and manage third-party claims issues
• Respond promptly to medication incidents, report errors per policy, and participate in quality assurance

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice pharmacy in the State of California (required)
• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from an ACPE-accredited college (required)
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (required)
• Familiarity with retail pharmacy workflows, third-party Rx systems, and regulatory compliance
• Experience supervising technicians and interns and delivering excellent customer service
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to sit, stand, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform typical pharmacy physical tasks

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (ACPE-accredited) or Pharm.D.

• Controlled substances handling and security procedures
