Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 9-hour shift (exact start/end times and days to be confirmed) — Med/Surg

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $43 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care for Med/Surg patients
Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
Monitor patient progress and promptly escalate changes in condition
Document patient care completely and accurately in the electronic medical record
Participate in unit-based initiatives to improve patient outcomes and workflow

Qualifications

Current, active RN license (eligible to practice in Alabama)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred or encouraged
Med/Surg nursing experience preferred (new grads with strong clinical skills encouraged to apply)
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in Med/Surg nursing assessments and interventions
Medication administration and IV therapy knowledge
Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate charting
Infection prevention and control practices
Patient education and discharge planning skills
Critical thinking and clinical judgment under pressure
