Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents, ensuring dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
• Support mealtime assistance and feeding as needed, fostering a pleasant dining experience
• Document care accurately and timely in resident charts and communicate clearly with the care team
• Help maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control practices
• Engage residents in friendly conversation and meaningful activities to enhance quality of life

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (state registration) required
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening as required by facility
• Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or assisted living is a plus
• Reliable, compassionate, and strong communication skills; ability to work well on a team

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of an accredited CNA program and current state CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of basic patient care and activities of daily living
• Knowledge of infection control and safe transfer/positioning techniques
• Comfortable with routine documentation and reporting
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with residents and families
• Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs in a busy setting
• Teamwork mindset and willingness to support fellow caregivers
