Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, helping with daily living activities
• Assist with bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility and feeding while preserving dignity
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes in condition
• Support a safe, clean environment and follow infection control best practices
• Communicate clearly with nurses, families, and the care team to ensure continuity
• Document care and observations timely and accurately in resident records

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (required)
• Valid state credentials and ability to work in Maine
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable working in a long-term care or skilled nursing environment
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered attitude
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Completion of an approved CNA training program and state certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Ability to take and record vital signs and monitor resident status
• Knowledge of infection control and safe patient handling
• Good observational skills and clear clinical communication
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Teamwork mindset and a calm approach in busy care settings
