Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Night schedule, 3x12-hour nights per week, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (Night). Schedule is variable and may include weekends; rotating day/night assignments assessed every 4-week scheduling period; block schedules: Yes.
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with solid tumor cancers throughout the continuum of care
- Perform telemetry monitoring and interpret dysrhythmias while responding to cardiac events
- Administer and manage IV therapy, including starting/maintaining IVs and central line blood draws
- Access and manage ports and administer blood products safely and accurately
- Support infection prevention protocols and fall-prevention strategies to keep patients safe
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (PT, RT, Pharmacy, Social Services) to coordinate patient-centered care
- Document thoroughly and timely in EPIC to ensure continuity and quality of care
- Float to other MedSurg Oncology units as needed and adapt to unit-specific workflows
Qualifications
- BLS certification (required)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (must meet within the 3 most recent years; at least 1 year of current specialty experience required for a clinical pass)
- Oncology experience preferred but not required
- ONS Chemo certification preferred
- Comfort and/or experience with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
- Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line management, and blood product administration preferred
- Experience with EPIC or computerized charting systems required
- Willingness to float to other MedSurg Oncology units and a growth mindset
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry interpretation and cardiac monitoring expertise
- Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Oncology nursing fundamentals and familiarity with solid tumor diagnoses
- Infection prevention and isolation precautions/PPE best practices
- Tracheostomy care and management
- IV therapy, port access, and central line blood draw skills
- Blood product administration and safe medication practices
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic charting
