Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform routine and special clinical laboratory tests to deliver accurate diagnostic data
• Run and document quality-control tests and analyze QC data to maintain laboratory integrity
• Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on instruments, documenting actions taken
• Collect, process and handle specimens with care and in accordance with phlebotomy policies
• Communicate critical test results promptly to physicians and nurses according to protocol
• Maintain clear, legible test reports and ensure clerical accuracy of laboratory records
• Support inventory control and requisition of supplies to keep the lab running smoothly
• Provide leadership in daily section activities and assist with educational or training tasks

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Medical Technology (required)
• ASCP certification (or equivalent nationally recognized Medical Technology certification) required within one year of hire
• Familiarity with Vitros instrumentation (must be comfortable working with this platform)
• Abuse Reporter Certification required within 6 months of hire
• Strong mathematical, reasoning and college-level language skills
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English well
• Dependable, able to work with minimal supervision, and comfortable in a hospital environment
• Willingness to participate in on-call schedule with a 30-minute response time
