Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based cardiopulmonary treatment and diagnostic care to patients of all ages
• Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment and ventilators
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Assess respiratory status and develop individualized treatment plans
• Provide patient and family education on therapies, breathing techniques, and discharge planning
• Accurately document patient care, clinical observations, and therapy responses
• Respond promptly to emergency situations and participate in codes as needed
• Participate in quality improvement, infection control, and safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Current NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist credential (NBRC-RRT) required
• Current Oregon Respiratory Care License required
• Healthcare Provider BLS certification required
• ACLS, NRP, and PALS required for PCH Respiratory Therapy assignments
• Two years clinical respiratory care experience preferred
• Strong clinical judgment, effective communication skills, and teamwork mindset

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of cardiopulmonary anatomy, physiology, and therapies
• Experience with ventilator management and airway support
• Skilled in diagnostic testing and interpretation related to respiratory care
• Competence in patient assessment, treatment planning, and clinical documentation
• Ability to teach patients and families in clear, compassionate terms
• Comfort working across critical and non-critical care settings
