Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem, 4-hour shifts (exact start/end times vary by assignment; schedule as-needed within surgical block hours), Surg Tech

Candidate Pay Rate: $39 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain sterile instrumentation and operative fields
Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and anticipating needs
Perform counts and document instrument, sponge, and sharps tracking
Ensure equipment is functioning and report issues promptly
Collaborate with the surgical team to maintain patient safety and comfort
Participate in orientation and continue developing perioperative skills

Qualifications

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred or completion of an accredited surgical tech program
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain
Prior OR or surgical tech experience preferred; new grads with strong clinical training are welcome
Ability to follow sterile technique and surgical protocols
Clear communication skills and a team-first attitude
Ability to pass facility onboarding and background requirements

Education

Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent
High school diploma or GED

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of sterile processing and operating room protocols
Familiarity with surgical instrumentation and procedural terminology
Strong attention to detail for counts and documentation
Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and work efficiently under pressure
Good teamwork and communication skills with perioperative staff
