Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered outpatient nursing care to individuals and families in the Bethel community.
Perform focused assessments, triage concerns, and escalate appropriately to ensure patient safety and continuity of care.
Administer medications and immunizations accurately and document interventions in the patient record.
Coordinate care with providers, ancillary services, and community resources to support positive outcomes.
Maintain clear, professional documentation in the EHR and contribute to efficient clinic workflows.
Educate patients and caregivers about diagnoses, treatments, follow-up plans, and preventive care in a culturally respectful way.

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska, or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to start.
Experience in outpatient nursing or ambulatory care preferred.
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required or obtain upon hire.
Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
Comfort working in a community setting and adapting to the needs of a diverse patient population.

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN).
BSN preferred where available; equivalent clinical experience considered.

Knowledge & Skills

Clinical assessment and triage for outpatient presentations
Medication administration and documentation best practices
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and accurate charting
Patient education and culturally competent communication
Team-based care coordination and time management in a busy clinic environment
