Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on occupational therapy services and skilled interventions to support patient independence
• Implement individualized treatment plans under the direction of an OTR to improve activities of daily living
• Train and educate patients and caregivers on adaptive strategies and assistive devices
• Document patient progress accurately and timely in the medical record
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, high-quality care
• Support unit needs as directed, including occasional weekend assistance

Qualifications

• COTA (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant) — required
• Current certification and credentials in good standing
• Availability for the full assignment window: May 11, 2026 through August 8, 2026
• Comfort working in a post-acute/rehab environment and assisting with unit needs
• Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills
• BLS/CPR certification and prior experience in skilled nursing/post-acute care are a plus

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in ADL training, therapeutic activities, and adaptive equipment recommendations
• Solid understanding of post-acute rehabilitation goals and discharge planning
• Accurate clinical documentation and outcome tracking
• Ability to follow care plans and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
• Patient-focused approach with good time management and prioritization
