Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage ventilators and provide expert ventilator management for adults, pediatrics, and neonates
• Perform ABG analysis and interpret results to guide patient care
• Provide and document breathing treatments, high-flow nasal cannula, Vapotherm, and chest vest therapy
• Carry out EKGs and respiratory assessments to monitor patient status
• Perform and assist with bronchoscopies as needed (proficiency required)
• Serve as Charge RT when scheduled — lead the team, coordinate care, and support staff 24/7
• Collaborate with in-house hospitalists/intensivists, pharmacy, and other teams to deliver coordinated care
• Complete floor-specific orientation (up to 3 shifts) and maintain competency with Cerner and unit equipment

Qualifications

• RRT or CRT credential required
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
• Must have at least 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
• NICU experience is a must — candidates without NICU experience will not work in that area
• Proficiency with bronchoscopies required
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR, Puritan Bennett 840 ventilators, and Phillips telemetry
• Travel experience preferred and charge RT experience expected (24/7 coverage when scheduled)
