Shift Type: Rotating shifts including weekends (exact start/end times per posting). Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts per month; float between St. Joseph's Main, St. Joseph's Westgate, and two free-standing ERs (Litchfield Park & Glendale), may be floated mid-shift.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency and trauma nursing care in a fast-paced ED/Trauma environment
• Assess, triage, and monitor patients accurately using telemetry and clinical judgment
• Perform and demonstrate competency in sterile procedures, Foley catheter insertion, and central line dressing changes during SIMs Lab
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including RT, pharmacy, hospitalists and intensivists to coordinate timely care
• Maintain clear, timely documentation in Cerner and communicate changes in patient status effectively
• Manage a patient assignment at a typical 1:4 ratio while prioritizing safety and critical interventions
• Participate in unit responsibilities including lifts, restraints education, wound care, and occasional charge tasks as needed
• Support safe patient flow in a high-volume ED (200+ patients/day scenarios) and assist with psych holds when necessary

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (ENPC does not substitute for PALS)
• Must have at least 6 months of Trauma Level 1 experience (required)
• Preferred certifications: TNCC and/or ATCN
• Minimum ~2 years ER experience noted as an additional preference
• Comfort and competency with Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes (SIMs Lab pass required)
• Ability to read telemetry/monitor strips (Phillips monitors used)
• Must pass DYS exam prior to accepting (two attempts allowed; failure consequences noted)
• Travel team candidates: reliable personal vehicle required
• Facility-specific appearance/fit test requirements: natural hair color, no facial piercings, men must be clean-shaven for fit testing

Education

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required
