Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert Labor & Delivery, Postpartum and Mother-Baby nursing care in a 4-bed L&D and 4-bed postpartum unit
• Monitor fetal well-being using OBIX and AWHONN EFM guidelines and accurately read fetal monitoring strips
• Perform triage assessments and manage admissions for labor and postpartum patients
• Titrate drips safely (Pitocin, magnesium, insulin, D10) and manage medication administration
• Support C-section/OR cases and provide perioperative assistance as needed
• Manage care for complex obstetric patients including high BMI, diabetes in pregnancy, and substance use disorders
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and participate in on-call rotations
• Complete unit-specific orientation and contribute to a culture of safety and compassion

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (Colorado licensure preferred/required for practice in state)
• Required certifications: ACLS, NRP, AWHONN EFM, STABLE
• Demonstrated LDRP (Labor/Delivery/Recovery/Postpartum) experience
• Experience titrating drips and managing common obstetric infusions
• Comfort with reading fetal monitoring strips and using OBIX EFM system
• Driver's license must be submitted (radius: within 60 miles)
• Experience caring for high BMI patients, obstetric diabetes management, and perinatal substance use care

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in AWHONN fetal monitoring best practices and electronic fetal monitoring (OBIX)
• Proficient in obstetric medication titration and drip management (Pitocin, Magnesium, Insulin, D10)
• Triage assessment and prioritization in L&D/PP/MB settings
• C-section/OR support and perioperative nursing for obstetrics
• Neonatal stabilization basics (STABLE) and familiarity with bubble CPAP
• Ability to float within Zone 1 units when needed and collaborate across departments
• Self-scheduling and teamwork skills to maintain balanced staffing
