Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform and interpret clinical laboratory tests across chemistry, hematology, blood bank and microbiology with accuracy and care
• Conduct and document quality control procedures to ensure patient results are reliable
• Communicate results and consult with physicians, nurses and other care team members promptly
• Operate and maintain clinical laboratory instrumentation and troubleshoot routine issues
• Provide direction and supervision to Medical Laboratory Assistants, helping to train and guide them
• Maintain required documentation including competency checklists, fit test or physical records, and required reporting
• Adhere to immunization and safety requirements so the lab stays compliant and safe for all

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related field required
• Board eligible by NCA or ASCP on hire and must obtain full certification within one year
• One to three years of related lab experience preferred, including chemistry, hematology, blood bank and microbiology or completion of a formal student internship
• Current professional license or certification (MT by ASCP or CLS by NCA) required within one year of employment
• Ability to work independently and to provide direction to Medical Laboratory Assistants
• Must complete and clear all onboarding credentials before travel; this includes background checks, 10-panel drug screen within 90 days, OIG/SAM/sex offender searches, and provision of ID/SSN/employment documentation
• Up-to-date immunizations or titers for Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Tdap and Polio as required

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven knowledge of clinical laboratory instrumentation and maintenance
• Strong skills in quality control and documentation practices
• Hands-on experience in chemistry, hematology, blood bank and microbiology testing
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with clinical teams and patients
• Supervisory and mentoring skills to guide laboratory assistants
• Attention to detail and the ability to follow strict credentialing and safety protocols
• Comfort working independently in a fast-paced, variable-shift environment
