Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead antibiotic stewardship activities including vancomycin and aminoglycoside dosing and therapeutic drug monitoring
• Perform and oversee sterile/IV compounding operations following policy and safety protocols
• Manage pharmacy operations across both campuses, ensuring regulatory compliance
• Provide drug information and clinical support to medical staff across inpatient areas (ER, ICU, MedSurg, PACU, ORs, NICU, Mother/Baby)
• Supervise and collaborate with pharmacy technicians (maintain RPh:Tech ratio and ensure quality checks like Kit Check and control check)
• Support medication dispensing processes using Omnicell, CSM vault, medidose packaging, and CPOE/Cerner workflows
• Step in during rare emergencies to assist staffing and maintain continuity of care
• Contribute to department leadership tasks as Pharmacy Manager/Supervisor when needed

Qualifications

• Active California pharmacist license (required)
• More than 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience
• Experience with antibiotic stewardship programs and therapeutic drug monitoring (vancomycin, aminoglycosides, insulin)
• Hands-on experience with sterile compounding/IV compounding and familiarity with IV Compounding Certification (preferred)
• Proficiency with CPOE/EHR systems such as Cerner and medication dispensing systems like Omnicell and CSM vault
• Experience with medidose unit packaging, Kit Check and control check procedures
• Supervisory or managerial experience in a pharmacy setting (Pharmacy Manager/Supervisor role indicated)
• Willingness to work rotating schedules and every other weekend; able to follow dress code and departmental policies
• Residency training or BPS certifications (BCPS, BCIDP, BCCCP, BSCSP) and ASHP micro-certifications or SIDP/infectious diseases certification are preferred
