Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, Day shift 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM; rotating schedule including weekends (6-9 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule). Schedules released 4-6 weeks in advance. May include Just-In-Time (JIT) facility assignments and floating within a 60-mile zone.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, competent MS-Telemetry nursing care for adult and geriatric patients across a variety of diagnoses
• Monitor telemetry and cardiac rhythms, promptly recognizing and escalating changes in patient status
• Titrate IV drips (Heparin) per protocol with accurate documentation and timely communication
• Float across multiple units and sister facilities within the assigned zone to meet patient care needs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including respiratory therapy, physicians, and unit staff
• Support unit flow by accepting assignments, assisting with transfers and helping manage acuity-based patient loads (typical ratios 1:5-6)
• Participate in orientation and unit-specific competency validation to ensure consistent, high-quality care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state(s)
• Minimum 2 years of MS-Telemetry nursing experience (explicit requirement)
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required; NIHSS certification required
• Comfortable titrating Heparin drips and working with telemetry monitoring
• Ability and willingness to float across multiple facilities within a 60-mile zone; valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (DL must be submitted)
• Experience with adult and geriatric populations; prior neuro experience preferred
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends and holiday rotation as needed

Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (degree not explicitly specified in posting)

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry rhythm interpretation and continuous cardiac monitoring
• Heparin drip titration and IV medication management
• Familiarity with respiratory therapy equipment (vent, CPAP, BiPAP)
• Care across specialties: Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Ortho, Trauma and ED Observation
• Strong clinical judgment, adaptability for Just-In-Time assignments, and excellent communication skills
• Competence in electronic medical record documentation and handoff reporting
