Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate urgent care assessment and treatment for walk-in patients
• Triage patients quickly and accurately to prioritize care needs
• Administer medications, IVs, and treatments safely and according to protocols
• Perform wound care, splinting, and basic procedural assistance as needed
• Document patient encounters clearly and timely in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with physicians and the care team to ensure smooth patient flow
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, aftercare, and follow-up plans

Qualifications

• Current RN license in California or a valid compact RN license
• BLS certification required; ACLS or PALS preferred if available
• Urgent care or emergency nursing experience preferred
• Strong assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities for fast-paced settings
• Ability to work independently during per diem shifts and adapt quickly

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and acute patient assessment
• IV insertion, medication administration, and basic procedures
• Wound care, splinting, and minor emergency interventions
• Comfortable using electronic medical records and documentation best practices
• Infection control, patient safety, and quality-focused care
