Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a sterile field and all surgical instrumentation for OB cases
• Assist surgeons and the perioperative team during obstetric procedures with precision and calm
• Perform accurate instrument and sponge counts to ensure patient safety
• Document care and chart procedures using Cerner promptly and accurately
• Support unit needs by floating EOW as required, adapting quickly to different teams
• Participate in the required orientation and contribute to a smooth, efficient OR workflow

Qualifications

• CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience (documented) — OB/Obstetrics experience emphasized
• Experience with Cerner charting system (charting system specified)
• Ability and willingness to float to other units every other week as noted
• License to submit: yes (ensure appropriate licensure/credentials are current)

Education

• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong surgical instrumentation knowledge for OB cases
• Proven sterile technique and operating room protocols
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic charting
• Effective communication and teamwork in high-acuity acute care settings
• Ability to manage counts and maintain meticulous attention to detail during procedures
• Comfort working night shifts and adapting to a variable unit assignment
