Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients’ respiratory status to deliver timely, high-impact interventions
• Operate and manage ventilators and other respiratory equipment with precision and safety
• Perform neonatal resuscitation (NRP) and provide age-appropriate respiratory care for infants, children and adults as needed
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses and allied staff to create and execute individualized respiratory plans
• Educate patients and families on respiratory treatments, discharge plans and home care techniques
• Accurately document assessments, treatments and patient responses in the medical record
• Respond professionally to respiratory emergencies and participate in code team activities
• Maintain infection control practices and ensure all required screenings (including TB) are current

Qualifications

• Active California Respiratory Therapist license (required)
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification (required)
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications (required)
• Proof of a negative TB test within 12 months prior to contract start (required)
• Comfort working 12-hour day shifts in an acute care setting

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong ventilator management and airway competency
• Neonatal and pediatric respiratory care knowledge (NRP/PALS aligned)
• Skilled in patient assessment, monitoring and clinical decision-making
• Clear communication and teamwork within multidisciplinary teams
• Accurate clinical documentation and familiarity with electronic health records
• Infection control and safety-first mindset
