Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients, supporting comfort and dignity throughout the shift.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility.
• Monitor and record vital signs and patient observations accurately and promptly.
• Communicate clearly with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated care.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control and safety protocols.
• Document care in electronic or paper records in a timely, professional manner.

Qualifications

• Valid CNA certification in California (required).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from an accredited provider (preferred).
• Active healthcare background check and immunization records as required by facility.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate bedside manner.
• Ability to work independently on per-diem shifts and adapt to different unit workflows.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential required.

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled with patient transfers, safe lifting techniques, and mobility assistance.
• Proficient in taking and recording vital signs accurately.
• Familiar with basic patient care documentation and charting practices.
• Good communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and clinical staff.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively during busy shifts.
