Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality post-anesthesia care in Phase I and Phase II PACU settings
• Perform timely assessments and monitor vital signs to ensure safe recovery from anesthesia
• Administer and monitor conscious sedation and monitored anesthesia care per protocols
• Collaborate with surgical, anesthesia and OR teams to coordinate smooth patient transitions
• Document accurately in the charting system to ensure continuity of care
• Manage pain control interventions and patient education for ambulatory/outpatient procedures
• Respond quickly and effectively to changes in patient condition, escalating concerns when appropriate
• Contribute to a positive patient experience through clear communication and professionalism

Qualifications

• Active RN license required at time of submission (California license)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Pre-Op and PACU (ambulatory setting preferred)
• BLS and ACLS required (AHA or ARC only)
• PALS preferred
• Experience with Phase I PACU, Phase II Recovery, ambulatory/outpatient settings preferred
• Comfortable with conscious sedation, MAC, local anesthesia and common ortho/neuro procedures
• Charting system experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted; interest in converting to permanent is a plus
• Pending licenses are NOT acceptable — license must be active

Knowledge & Skills

• Phase I PACU and Phase II recovery workflows
• Pre-op and pre-post patient processes
• Conscious sedation and Monitored Anesthesia Care (MAC)
• Pain management strategies in ambulatory settings
• Familiarity with ortho, spine, podiatry and urology case types
• Strong clinical assessment and post-anesthesia monitoring skills
• Accurate electronic charting and documentation practices
• Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and communicate clearly
