Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Take and record vital signs accurately and communicate changes to the nursing team
• Support safe mobility and fall prevention efforts while promoting resident independence
• Assist with feeding, toileting, grooming, and bathing in a respectful manner
• Maintain accurate documentation and report observations promptly to licensed staff
• Follow infection control practices and facility policies to keep residents safe
• Collaborate with the care team to ensure each resident’s plan of care is followed

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in Maine (or equivalent) — required
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Demonstrated experience in direct resident care or completion of a CNA training program
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to providing kind, respectful care

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an accredited CNA program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
• Knowledgeable about vital sign measurement and documentation
• Familiar with basic infection prevention and resident safety protocols
• Able to work collaboratively with nurses, therapists, and family members
• Good observational skills to notice and report changes in resident condition
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
