Roles & Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate patient care using the nursing process: assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate
• Direct and support nursing staff including PCTs, CMAs, LPNs, and RNs to ensure high-quality care
• Collaborate with clinic leadership and other RNs to optimize patient flow and clinic practices
• Provide age-appropriate, culturally competent care for patients from birth through elderly
• Administer medications and treatments, interpret diagnostic tests, and provide patient and family education
• Serve as a clinical resource and escalate complex issues to ensure safe, effective outcomes
• Assist with hiring and onboarding of agency or traveling nursing staff as needed

Qualifications

• Active Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 4 years of charge experience in a clinic or urgent care setting
• Comfortable practicing per Alaska RN scope and able to work independently within prescribed limits
• Strong oral and written communication skills and cultural competency
• Ability to pass and maintain required competencies for the role

Education

• Completion of a nursing program from an NLN-approved institution
• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in nursing assessment, diagnosis, care planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Medication administration and interpretation of diagnostic tests
• Care management and continuity of care across the clinical setting
• Clinical supervision and leadership of multidisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with clinic/urgent care workflows and medical terminology
• Comfortable using office and medical equipment such as dynamap, scales, and thermometers
