Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients at the bedside: interview, examine, and perform targeted lung function tests
• Manage mechanical ventilators in ICU settings, including setup, monitoring and adjustments
• Perform and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) to guide respiratory treatment plans
• Deliver therapeutic treatments: aerosolized medications, oxygen therapy, and chest physiotherapy
• Provide emergency airway management and CPR during critical events
• Educate patients and families on chronic respiratory care and home oxygen use
• Document patient progress clearly and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and specialists to optimize care

Qualifications

• RRT credential (Registered Respiratory Therapist) required
• Current CPR certification required
• Demonstrated ICU experience and comfort with emergency care
• Proven competence in ventilator management and mechanical ventilators
• Experience interpreting arterial blood gases (ABG) and performing pulmonary function testing
• Strong airway management skills and ability to perform chest physiotherapy
• Effective documentation and teamwork skills
