Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients comprehensively and continuously to identify needs and changes in condition
• Analyze assessment data to formulate accurate nursing diagnoses and prioritize care
• Develop individualized plans of care with clear, achievable outcomes
• Implement and manage perioperative and intraoperative nursing interventions in the OR
• Provide patient and family education to promote recovery, safety, and understanding of care plans
• Adhere to safety and infection control standards to protect patients and staff
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and continuity of care
• Participate in quality improvement activities and integrate evidence-based practices into nursing care
• Serve as a clinical leader within the professional practice setting and support peer development
• Maintain stroke competency and follow hospital protocols for hyperacute and acute stroke care

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with Montana RN license required
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited School of Nursing, OR Associate degree or Diploma in Nursing (all acceptable)
• Current American Heart Association BLS required
• Current American Heart Association ACLS required
• Minimum 18 months of Registered Nurse experience
• Preferred: CNOR certification
• Preferred: 1 year circulating experience
• Preferred: 1 year scrub experience
• Ability to work varied shifts, exercise sound judgment, and perform under pressure
• Strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and commitment to professional standards

Education

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited School of Nursing OR
• Associate degree in Nursing OR
• Nursing Diploma from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment, accurate diagnosis, and development of individualized care plans
• Intraoperative nursing skills including circulating and scrub duties
• Implementing plans of care and evaluating outcomes
• Patient and family education with clarity and compassion
• Safety protocols and infection control best practices
• Clinical decision making, problem analysis, and adaptability in busy environments
• Stroke care protocols and required stroke education compliance
• Ability to collaborate, mentor peers, and contribute to quality improvement
