Roles & Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vital signs, height/weight and pulse oximetry
• Perform 12-lead EKGs accurately and efficiently
• Prepare charts and assist with in-basket tasks to keep providers focused on care
• Handle telephone triage and manage authorization forms with attention to detail
• Process pharmacy refill requests and complete insurance verification
• Float between satellite clinics within your skill set to support patient access
• Deliver compassionate care to adult and geriatric patients in an outpatient cardiology setting
• Help maintain smooth clinic flow by anticipating provider and patient needs

Qualifications

• BLS certification required
• At least 6 months of experience working as a Medical Assistant
• EPIC charting experience required
• Cardiology experience preferred; candidates with primary care experience will be considered
• MA-C preferred; MA-R or RMA will be considered
• Reliable personal transportation required (public transit not sufficient)
• Willingness to float to nearby satellite clinics and be flexible within the clinic scope

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant certificate/credential preferred (MA-C, RMA acceptable)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with EPIC charting and electronic medical records
• Chart preparation and in-basket management
• Telephone triage best practices
• Authorization forms and insurance verification workflows
• Obtaining and interpreting vital signs and 12-lead EKGs
• Pharmacy call/refill processing
• Rooming patients and supporting adult outpatient clinic operations
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced cardiology clinic
