Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage existing hematology and oncology patients in a community outpatient clinic with compassion and clinical excellence
• Conduct thorough patient visits, assessments, and treatment planning using EPIC/Beacon
• Coordinate care with nursing and medical assistant staff to ensure smooth clinic flow and follow-up
• Document encounters and treatment plans accurately in the EMR to support continuity of care
• Communicate with patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, and care goals with clarity and empathy
• Collaborate with hospital-based teams as needed to ensure safe transitions of care and backfill coverage effectively

Qualifications

• MD or DO with board certification or eligibility in Hematology and Oncology
• Active Washington medical license or eligible to obtain Washington licensure in a timely manner
• Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain)
• Experience managing outpatient hematology and oncology patient panels (ambulatory clinic experience)
• Comfortable with EPIC and Beacon electronic medical records
• Strong communication skills and experience working with interdisciplinary clinic teams

Education

• MD or DO; Hematology/Oncology fellowship or equivalent training preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical expertise in hematology and oncology patient management
• Proficiency with EPIC and Beacon EMR systems
• Strong outpatient ambulatory clinic workflow knowledge
• Ability to manage 12-15 patient visits per day efficiently
• Excellent patient communication and shared decision-making skills
• Team collaboration with RNs, MAs and hospital specialists
