Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care across all service lines, confidently supporting adults, geriatrics, pediatrics and obstetric cases
• Prepare, assist and circulate during a wide range of surgical procedures including neurosurgery (3's and 4's), ENT, orthopedics, GYN, general surgery and DaVinci robotics cases
• Collaborate with the charge nurse, OR techs and interdisciplinary team to maintain patient safety and flow across 7 OR suites and 2 endo suites
• Chart accurately in EPIC and follow established policies and protocols to ensure regulatory compliance
• Float to Pre/Post op, PACU or ER for trauma cases when trained, demonstrating flexibility and clinical breadth
• Contribute to a culture of teamwork, teaching and continuous improvement—share knowledge and mentor colleagues

Qualifications

• Current RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (perioperative/OR experience strongly preferred)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Demonstrated experience with perioperative nursing and surgical procedures; Neurosurgery 3's and 4's experience is a must
• Driver’s license required at time of submittal (used to verify 50-mile radius eligibility)
• Must NOT be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit-associated facility (including CHI and Dignity)
• Willingness to complete unit orientation (1 week) and pass the open-book orientation exam with a 90% minimum
• Compliance with fingernail/artificial nail policy (artificial nails prohibited for direct patient care)

Education

• Active RN license (required)
• BSN not required per job posting

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong perioperative and operating room nursing skills
• Familiarity with EPIC charting and documentation workflows
• Competence in assisting with DaVinci robotic cases and a broad range of surgical specialties
• Excellent situational awareness, sterile technique and OR safety practices
• Effective communication, teamwork and ability to teach/mentor others
• Ability to adapt to varied daily surgical schedules and float when needed
