Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-acuity cardiac ICU/CVICU nursing care with confidence and compassion
• Manage ventilators and advanced airway needs for critically ill adults
• Monitor and interpret hemodynamic data including Pulmonary Artery (Swan-Ganz) lines
• Care for post-operative cardiac surgery and mechanical circulatory support patients (IABP, Impella, VAD/LVAD/RVAD)
• Administer and titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips safely to achieve hemodynamic goals
• Perform procedural support and monitoring for conscious sedation and post-procedure recovery
• Document care accurately and efficiently in EPIC to ensure continuity and quality
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans

Qualifications

• Active RN license eligible for practice in Ohio (state license required prior to start)
• BLS and ACLS required
• 2 years of Cardiac ICU/CVICU experience preferred
• Demonstrated competency with ventilator management, Swan-Ganz/PA lines, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Epic charting experience required
• Ability to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed
• Previous travel or high-acuity tertiary center experience preferred
• Willingness to work rotating holidays and block schedules; orientation: 36 hours

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiac critical care nursing and post-cardiac surgery management
• Ventilator management and respiratory support (HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy care)
• Hemodynamic monitoring including Swan-Ganz/PA lines and IABP management
• ECMO, Impella, and VAD familiarization (preferred/experience a plus)
• Central line, arterial line, PICC and chest tube care and troubleshooting
• Interpretation of ABGs and 12-lead EKGs, and dysrhythmia recognition
• IV therapy and blood product administration
• Strong EPIC documentation and multidisciplinary communication skills
