Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective patient care in the operating room, prioritizing patient safety and comfort
• Scrub for a wide variety of surgical cases, maintaining sterile technique throughout procedures
• Prepare, assemble, and maintain surgical instrumentation and OR equipment before, during, and after cases
• Ensure the OR work area is organized, clean, and ready for each case
• Participate in 24-hour call coverage and respond promptly when on-call
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and support staff to facilitate efficient surgical workflow
• Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on OR equipment to minimize downtime

Qualifications

• Washington State Surgical Tech license required
• Current American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification card required on hire
• Proven ability to scrub a wide variety of surgical cases and maintain sterile technique
• Familiarity with surgical instrumentation, instrument preparation, and assembly
• Comfort participating in rotating 24-hour call coverage

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong surgical instrumentation and scrub technique knowledge
• Experience with instrument preparation, assembly, and OR equipment maintenance
• Solid perioperative patient care and operating room workflow understanding
• Ability to maintain sterile fields and adhere to infection control practices
• Good communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced surgical environment
• Attention to detail and reliability for on-call responsibilities
