Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: 12-hour night shifts (nights), rotating schedule, every other weekend (EOW). Specific clock start/end times not specified by the posting; 36 guaranteed hours/week; traveler will be first to float and may float between Bryan and College Station as needed.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert emergency nursing care in a busy Level III Trauma / Primary Stroke Center environment
- Assess, triage and rapidly stabilize patients across acuity levels — from pediatrics to geriatrics
- Manage high-acuity procedures and interventions (central lines, chest tubes, rapid transfusion/MTP)
- Perform or assist with intubation and ventilator troubleshooting and ongoing ventilator management
- Monitor telemetry and interpret ECGs to support STEMI and stroke workflows
- Collaborate closely with physicians, mid-levels (NP/PA), RTs and patient care techs during codes and rapid responses
- Document care accurately in EMR systems (PulseCheck, Picis, MEDITECH)
- Float between campuses when needed and support vertical care/fast-track areas as skills allow
- Maintain a professional, safety-first mindset to minimize call-outs and ensure consistent staffing
Qualifications
- Active RN license (able to practice in Texas)
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC and NIHSS certifications required
- Must pass Advanced Dysrhythmia exam at 83% (three attempts provided) before contract signing
- Minimum emergency nursing experience — posting references 2+ years (job details list 3 years)
- Comfortable with trauma care, central line management, chest tubes, MTP, STEMI and stroke care
- Experience in high-volume ED settings and working with pediatric patients (10–15% of volume)
- Able to float between campuses and work night shifts; strong teamwork and communication skills
Education
- Active RN license required (Texas)
- Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma accepted; BSN not required per posting
Knowledge & Skills
- Trauma care and mass-transfusion workflows (MTP)
- ECG interpretation and telemetry monitoring
- Airway management and ventilator/respiratory troubleshooting
- Central line and chest tube management
- Familiarity with EMRs: PulseCheck, Picis, and MEDITECH
- Rapid assessment/triage in a vertical care/fast-track environment
- Comfort managing common ED drips and sedation protocols
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume emergency department
