Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the medical-surgical unit
Assess patient status, identify changes, and communicate them clearly to the care team
Administer medications and treatments safely and according to policy
Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members to support positive outcomes
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
Document patient care accurately and timely in the medical record

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama or compact state eligibility preferred
Current BLS certification required; ACLS or specialty certifications a plus
Clinical experience or strong interest in medical-surgical nursing
Solid critical thinking, clinical assessment, and communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred when available

Knowledge & Skills

Medical-surgical nursing principles and best practices
Medication administration and IV therapy basics
Patient assessment and documentation
Team collaboration and handoff communication
Prioritization, time management, and patient safety focus
