Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality perioperative care in the CVOR for open-heart procedures
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain sterile technique and ensure proper setup of instruments and specialized cardiac equipment
• Continuously monitor patient status intraoperatively and document care accurately
• Participate in unit-based performance improvement and uphold evidence-based practices
• Support and mentor colleagues as part of a growing, team-oriented operating room environment

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure required
• Minimum 3 years Operating Room experience required
• Cardiac Open-Heart/CVOR experience required
• BSN preferred; candidates may be considered with commitment to obtain BSN within three years
• Ability to work day shifts primarily with flexibility for mid shifts and open-heart call

Education

• BSN preferred (or equivalent nursing degree with commitment to obtain BSN within three years)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of operating room protocols and sterile technique
• Familiarity with cardiac surgical instruments, bypass equipment, and intraoperative monitoring
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in high-acuity settings
• Ability to prioritize, stay calm under pressure, and provide compassionate patient-centered care
• Commitment to continuous learning and quality improvement
