Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate respiratory care to pediatric patients using evidence-based practices
• Operate and manage ventilators and other respiratory equipment safely and effectively
• Conduct assessments, develop care plans, and adjust therapy based on patient response
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate families and caregivers on respiratory treatments, equipment, and home care
• Document treatments, patient progress, and equipment settings accurately and timely
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training to maintain high standards of care

Qualifications

• Current Ohio Respiratory Care license (or eligible to obtain licensure in Ohio)
• Credentialed as CRT or RRT (or working toward credentialing)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; pediatric certifications preferred
• Comfort working with pediatric patient populations and families
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
• Willingness to complete required orientation (4 hours starting April 7, 2026)

Education

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent from an accredited program
• Additional pediatric-focused training or coursework is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and weaning protocols
• Airway management and suctioning techniques
• Familiarity with pediatric respiratory conditions and therapies
• Clinical assessment and monitoring of respiratory status
• Accurate clinical documentation and charting
• Ability to teach and support families in respiratory care
