Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report any concerning changes to the nursing team
• Assist with safe transfers and positioning, using proper body mechanics to protect residents and yourself
• Support mealtime assistance and feeding, ensuring dignity and individual preferences are respected
• Document care provided clearly and promptly in resident charts and communicate changes during shift handoffs
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to maintain a clean, safe, and positive environment for residents

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in Pennsylvania (or eligible to obtain state certification)
• Active enrollment/clearance with required background checks and health screenings as per facility policy
• Comfortable assisting residents with personal care and mobility; patience and empathy are essential
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow care plans and direction from licensed nursing staff
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform patient transfers safely throughout an 8-hour shift
• Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar healthcare setting is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent and successful completion of an approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic clinical skills: vital signs, ADL support, safe transfer techniques
• Infection control practices and hand hygiene
• Effective verbal and written communication with residents, families, and staff
• Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs during a busy shift
• Compassionate person-centered care approach and respect for resident dignity
• Teamwork and adaptability in a dynamic caregiving environment
