Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM and 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM, every 3rd weekend and 3rd holiday

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate care across both MedSurg and Emergency Department settings
Admit, discharge, and transfer patients while maintaining continuity of care
Titrate critical medications including insulin, amiodarone, cardizem, and levophed
Start IVs and manage PICC lines and ports with precision and care
Respond swiftly to codes including cardiorespiratory, stroke, and sepsis situations
Participate in trauma response and stabilize patients for higher-level transfer when needed
Read and interpret telemetry strips independently using Mindray monitors
Collaborate directly with hospitalists in a close-knit, independent work environment

Qualifications

Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
Minimum one year of ER experience strongly preferred
Comfortable working independently with minimal staffing support
Experience with Meditech EMR is a plus
Ability to float between MedSurg and Emergency Department units

Knowledge & Skills

Strong assessment and critical thinking skills for diverse patient populations
Proficient in medication titration and emergency response protocols
Familiarity with swing bed rehab, pain management, pneumonia, hypertensive crisis, and bowel obstruction cases
Competent in performing EKGs and interpreting cardiac rhythms
Knowledge of EMTALA regulations and flight transport coordination
