Location: Bakersfield, California

Start Date: 05-30-2026

End Date: 08-29-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with occasional 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM shifts, one weekend every third weekend with Monday and Friday off

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide exceptional physical therapy care to 12+ patients daily across medical-surgical, ICU, and ER units
Develop personalized treatment plans for diverse patient populations including post-surgical, neurological, and general medical cases
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient recovery and functional outcomes
Document patient progress and adjust interventions to maximize rehabilitation potential
Support patients through their journey from acute illness to improved mobility and independence

Qualifications

Active California Physical Therapist license required
BLS certification required
Acute Inpatient PT experience strongly preferred
Ability to work effectively across multiple hospital departments

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in treating general medical and deconditioned patients
Experience with post-surgical rehabilitation including TKA, THA, and spinal procedures
Skilled in stroke recovery and general orthopedic rehabilitation
Strong assessment and clinical reasoning abilities
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
