Roles & Responsibilities

Assess and triage pediatric critical care patients, delivering timely, evidence-based nursing care
Continuously monitor hemodynamics, ventilators, and life-support systems to ensure patient safety
Administer medications and complex therapies with meticulous attention to detail
Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary team members to optimize outcomes
Provide compassionate family-centered care and clear communication during high-stress moments
Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the medical record and contribute to quality improvement efforts
Participate in orientation, mentoring, and unit-based education to support shared learning

Qualifications

Current RN license in Ohio or eligibility to obtain state licensure
Experience or strong interest in Pediatric Intensive Care and critical care nursing
BLS required; PALS and ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Pediatric assessment and critical care principles
Ventilator management and weaning strategies
Cardiorespiratory monitoring and hemodynamic interpretation
Medication safety, infusion pumps, and titratable drips
Family-centered care and effective crisis communication
Teamwork, clinical judgment, and strong prioritization skills
