Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and triage pediatric critical care patients, delivering timely, evidence-based nursing care
- Continuously monitor hemodynamics, ventilators, and life-support systems to ensure patient safety
- Administer medications and complex therapies with meticulous attention to detail
- Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary team members to optimize outcomes
- Provide compassionate family-centered care and clear communication during high-stress moments
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the medical record and contribute to quality improvement efforts
- Participate in orientation, mentoring, and unit-based education to support shared learning
Qualifications
- Current RN license in Ohio or eligibility to obtain state licensure
- Experience or strong interest in Pediatric Intensive Care and critical care nursing
- BLS required; PALS and ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Pediatric assessment and critical care principles
- Ventilator management and weaning strategies
- Cardiorespiratory monitoring and hemodynamic interpretation
- Medication safety, infusion pumps, and titratable drips
- Family-centered care and effective crisis communication
- Teamwork, clinical judgment, and strong prioritization skills
