Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting)
• Take and record vital signs and report significant changes to the nursing team
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and safe positioning to promote resident comfort and safety
• Support meal service and feeding assistance as needed, observing dietary needs
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
• Document resident care accurately and communicate effectively with nurses and interdisciplinary team members
• Build trusting relationships with residents and their families, delivering empathetic, person-centered care

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification valid in Pennsylvania
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program
• Ability to pass required background checks and pre-employment screenings
• Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening per facility policy
• Comfortable assisting with patient transfers and physical tasks required by resident care
• Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited CNA program and current CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic nursing care
• Knowledge of infection control practices and resident safety protocols
• Basic vital signs measurement and documentation skills
• Ability to follow care plans and communicate observations clearly
• Compassionate bedside manner and patience with older adults
• Familiarity with electronic charting or willingness to learn facility EMR
