Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-centered care that preserves dignity and independence
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming)
• Measure and record vital signs, intake/output, and other observations accurately
• Document resident status and care provided in the facility record system
• Communicate changes in resident condition promptly to the nursing team
• Support a safe, clean environment by following infection control and safety protocols
• Encourage resident participation in social and recreational activities to enhance quality of life

Qualifications

• Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification for Pennsylvania (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and immunization requirements
• Comfortable assisting with transfers and using proper body mechanics
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• CNA certification (completion of an approved CNA training program required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic resident care
• Familiarity with infection control standards and safe lifting/transfer techniques
• Accurate vital sign measurement and documentation skills
• Basic understanding of resident rights, privacy, and dignity
• Ability to use electronic charting or willingness to learn facility documentation systems
• Compassion, patience, and good collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
