Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care and assist with activities of daily living
• Monitor and record vital signs, reporting changes to the nursing team promptly
• Assist with safe transfers, mobility and positioning using proper body mechanics
• Support patients with personal hygiene, feeding, and toileting needs while preserving dignity
• Communicate clearly and kindly with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and adhere to infection control policies
• Document care accurately in charts/records and follow care plans

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) required
• Active/state-appropriate CNA credentials or eligibility to obtain New Mexico certification
• Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar patient-care setting preferred
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well on a team
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to providing quality, compassionate care
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program and current certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical skills in patient hygiene, feeding assistance, and basic bedside care
• Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
• Knowledge of infection control practices and safe patient handling
• Comfortable with accurate documentation and following care plans
• Strong interpersonal skills and patient-centered communication
• Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced care environment
