Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (examples include 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM nights; 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM; 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM; 1:00 PM - 1:00 AM; 3:00 PM - 3:00 AM). Self-scheduling, variable evenings and nights, includes every-other-weekend and every-other-holiday requirements. Rotating shifts include day, evening, and night coverage.

Candidate Pay Rate: $55 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in a high-volume ER setting
- Deliver lifesaving interventions for trauma, cardiac, stroke, and sepsis patients
- Manage ventilators and advanced respiratory support in collaboration with RT
- Interpret ECG rhythms and monitor telemetry to guide urgent care decisions
- Coordinate patient flow and care for ER holds, ensuring safe transitions
- Document care thoroughly in Paragon and Allscripts to maintain continuity
- Collaborate with physicians, mid-levels, charge nurses, and techs to deliver excellent care
- Step into charge or teamwork roles when needed to maintain smooth unit operations
Qualifications
- Current RN licensure (eligible to practice in Texas)
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
- Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
- TNCC required; PALS or ENPC required (as listed)
- Comfortable reading ECG rhythms and working without monitor tech support
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a 1:4 ratio typical in the unit
Education
- Active RN license required
- BSN not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong ECG rhythm recognition and telemetry monitoring skills
- Experience with ventilator management, CPAP/BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen therapy
- Triage expertise and fast track experience
- Trauma care, stroke care, sepsis and cardiac management
- Familiarity with Paragon and Allscripts charting systems
- Ability to collaborate with respiratory therapy, radiology, and ED support staff
- Charge nurse coordination and self-scheduling experience
