Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality PCU/step-down nursing care for telemetry patients with skill and compassion
• Monitor cardiac telemetry continuously and intervene quickly and appropriately
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the Cerner EMR
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, CNAs and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Support unit flow by floating to ED hold area or inpatient units as needed
• Advocate for patient comfort, safety and experience while following unit policies and best practices

Qualifications

• Active RN license (ability to practice in North Carolina or compact-state eligibility preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute inpatient/telemetry or step-down nursing experience
• Telemetry competency is required — demonstrated comfort monitoring and interpreting cardiac telemetry
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Charge experience is a plus and will be considered favorably
• Experience using Cerner EMR preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry monitoring and cardiac assessment skills
• Experience with inpatient medical/step-down clinical procedures
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic medical record workflows
• Ability to work in a team, prioritize, and manage patient ratios (typical 1:5 or 1:6 stretch)
• Good communication, documentation and critical thinking skills
