Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating nights (overnight), 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM; includes every-other-weekend coverage and rotation across ED sections (overnight/NOC)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $51 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in a high-volume emergency department
- Provide trauma, stroke, and acute medical care using evidence-based practices
- Monitor cardiac status and manage critical interventions with confidence
- Document patient care thoroughly in Cerner to ensure clear continuity and compliance
- Coach and give real-time feedback to team members to improve patient outcomes
- Collaborate with physicians, techs, and unit staff to coordinate excellent patient experiences
- Maintain required certifications and participate in unit guidelines and quality initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of practice (state authorization required)
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a nurse, with at least 1 year of Emergency Department experience
- Required certifications prior to start: BLS and ACLS; PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS required before start or on hire as noted
- ENPC to be completed within 90 days of hire
- Comfort with high-volume ED environments (100,000+ visits) and Level 2 trauma / comprehensive stroke center experience preferred
- Experience with Cerner documentation and familiarity with Baxter pumps and GE monitors preferred
- Strong teamwork, communication, and ability to coach/mentor on the floor
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Completion of nursing program and active RN license required
Knowledge & Skills
- Emergency nursing and triage best practices
- Trauma care and rapid assessment
- Stroke care and NIHSS familiarity
- Cardiac monitoring and interpretation
- Cerner documentation workflows
- Operation of Baxter infusion pumps and GE patient monitors
- Patient-centered communication and AIDET principles
- Ability to float across ED sections and adapt quickly
