Shift Type: Rotating shifts including weekends and holiday coverage (EOW/EOH rotations and weekend makeup shifts for call-ins/RTO). Exact shift start/end times vary by unit and assignment and will be provided during scheduling.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based orthopedic nursing care to adult patients throughout their perioperative and recovery journeys
• Assess, monitor and document patient conditions, responding quickly to changes and escalating when needed
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately while adhering to policies and protocols
• Assist with mobility, transfers and rehabilitation activities to support patient recovery and prevent complications
• Perform wound care, dressing changes and post-op assessments with attention to detail
• Collaborate with surgeons, physical therapists and the interdisciplinary team to create and execute patient-centered care plans
• Educate patients and families on post-op care, discharge instructions and safe home mobility
• Complete required specialty competency testing and maintain certifications to ensure high-quality care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse licensure (license/certificate verification required)
• Current BLS required
• ACLS required
• TNCC required
• NIHSS required
• Orthopedics experience or strong interest in musculoskeletal care (preferred)
• Ability to complete Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of orthopedic postoperative care, mobility assistance and fall prevention
• Skilled in patient assessment, medication administration and wound management
• Familiar with infection control and vaccine requirements
• Comfortable with electronic health record (EHR) documentation and accurate charting
• Strong teamwork, communication and patient/family education skills
• Able to complete required fit testing, drug screening and occupational health clearances
