Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide skilled occupational therapy intervention and assist with treatment plans tailored to each patient
- Deliver hands-on therapy and adaptive techniques to improve activities of daily living and independence
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate comprehensive patient care
- Educate patients and families on strategies, adaptive equipment, and home modifications
- Accurately document patient progress, interventions, and discharge planning in the electronic medical record
- Participate in team meetings and contribute clinical insights to optimize outcomes
Qualifications
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required
- Current California licensure or eligibility to obtain state authorization to practice
- Comfortable working scheduled shifts that include weekends as outlined (Tue-Sat or Sun-Thu)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with patients, families, and clinical teams
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification recommended
Education
- Completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program (Associate degree or diploma)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in ADL training, adaptive techniques, and patient-centered therapeutic activities
- Experience with mobility assistance, splinting basics, and use of adaptive equipment
- Proficient clinical documentation and care-plan implementation
- Ability to assess functional needs and implement evidence-based interventions
- Team-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving and time-management skills
