Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor and record vital signs, reporting changes to nursing staff promptly
• Support safe transfers, ambulation, and mobility with proper body mechanics
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of resident care and observations
• Help create a comfortable, dignified environment for residents through personal care and companionship
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to follow care plans and improve resident outcomes

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential
• Valid state authorization to practice as a CNA (ability to work in New Mexico preferred)
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required by facility
• Up-to-date immunizations per facility policy
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfort and stamina for overnight 12+ hour shifts

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an approved CNA program

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient care skills including ADLs and mobility assistance
• Reliable vital signs measurement and basic clinical observation
• Clear, compassionate communication with residents and care team members
• Time management and documentation skills in an electronic or paper charting system
• Infection control practices and adherence to safety protocols
• Teamwork mindset and a positive attitude under busy conditions
