Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care for patients, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor and document vital signs, intake/output, and patient observations accurately
• Support safe transfers, mobility, and fall prevention under nurse direction
• Communicate changes in patient condition clearly to the nursing team and chart thoroughly
• Assist with meal service and personal care while promoting patient dignity and comfort
• Follow infection control policies and maintain a clean, safe care environment
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to support patient-centered care plans

Qualifications

• Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
• Current state authorization to practice as a CNA in New Mexico or ability to obtain it
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable with overnight/overnight-into-morning schedules and clinical tasks
• Able to pass background check and drug screen as required by the facility
• Strong communication skills and a positive, patient-first attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient care fundamentals and safe transfer techniques
• Taking and recording vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with charting and basic electronic documentation
• Infection prevention best practices and proper PPE use
• Teamwork, time management, and the ability to prioritize patient needs
• Compassionate bedside manner and respect for patient dignity
