Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to patients, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any changes promptly to the nursing team
• Support patient mobility and transfers safely and comfortably
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols
• Assist with feeding, bathing, dressing and toileting while preserving patient dignity
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Document care accurately in the chart and participate in shift handoffs

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential — required
• Current state registration or license to practice as a CNA in New Mexico (or eligible to obtain)
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Comfortable working evening/overnight shifts and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Fundamentals of patient care and assistance with activities of daily living
• Basic vital sign measurement and documentation skills
• Safe patient transfer and mobility techniques
• Infection control practices and proper PPE usage
• Basic charting and familiarity with electronic health records (or willingness to learn)
• Teamwork, observational skills, and the ability to prioritize patient safety
