Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on patient care and assistance with activities of daily living
• Assist patients with mobility, transfers and safe ambulation to promote independence
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nursing team
• Support the nursing staff with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing and feeding
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control protocols
• Document care and patient interactions clearly and professionally in the chart
• Communicate respectfully with patients, families and the care team to enhance patient experience
• Contribute to a positive unit culture by being reliable, team-oriented and patient-focused

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) — current certification required
• Active CNA certification in the state of New Mexico or eligibility to obtain state certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable working full day shifts beginning at 6:00 AM
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner

Education

• CNA certification required
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient care fundamentals, including ADLs and mobility assistance
• Vital signs measurement and reporting
• Infection control and safe patient handling techniques
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary care team
• Time management and prioritization during busy shift periods
