Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on patient care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers and safe ambulation to promote independence
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nursing team
- Support the nursing staff with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing and feeding
- Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control protocols
- Document care and patient interactions clearly and professionally in the chart
- Communicate respectfully with patients, families and the care team to enhance patient experience
- Contribute to a positive unit culture by being reliable, team-oriented and patient-focused
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) — current certification required
- Active CNA certification in the state of New Mexico or eligibility to obtain state certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable working full day shifts beginning at 6:00 AM
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
Education
- CNA certification required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient care fundamentals, including ADLs and mobility assistance
- Vital signs measurement and reporting
- Infection control and safe patient handling techniques
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary care team
- Time management and prioritization during busy shift periods
